Deadly Distractions on Zimbabwe's Roads The latest minibus crash in central Zimbabwe, which killed at least 27 church members traveling for a conference, is another sobering reminder of the country's chronic transportation crisis.
The incident occurred when a truck attempting to overtake another vehicle struck the minibus head on. The crash site near Chivhu, about 140km south of Harare, highlights the poor state of Zimbabwe's roads.
State run broadcaster ZBC News reported that 23 people died at the scene and four more succumbed to their injuries after being admitted to a local hospital.
