The Dark Side of Modern Life: How Light Pollution Threatens Our Hearts Research from Europe's top cardiology society has found a disturbing link between nighttime light exposure and changes in heart structure and function.

A study involving over 11,000 participants tracked nighttime light exposure using wearable sensors for seven days and later underwent cardiac MRI scans to assess their hearts.

The results show that those exposed to higher levels of nighttime light had thickening in the left ventricle wall, reduced flexibility in heart muscle, and early signs of reduced heart function.
