Gastrointestinal Nightmare on the High Seas The recent outbreak of gastrointestinal illness on a UK operated cruise ship in France has left more than 1,000 passengers stranded onboard.
The incident is a stark reminder that even with enhanced measures in place, the risk of contagion remains a constant threat to those embarking on luxury getaways.
The Ambition cruise ship, which set sail from Belfast on May 8, initially reported 48 passengers displaying symptoms consistent with gastrointestinal illness, as well as one crew member.
