Elite Women Coaches Not Enough to Tackle Sexism in Sports

Coaching by Any Other Name Still Smells of Sexism The Australian Institute of Sport's Women in High Performance Coaching project has made significant strides in increasing the number of female head coaches in funded sports.

Since its inception in 2021, the proportion of female head coaches has nearly tripled to over 25%. However, this progress raises more questions than answers about systemic issues plaguing women in coaching roles.

The idea that having a higher proportion of female coaches will automatically dispel "misogynistic and abusive" behavior is overly simplistic.
